CHICKEN WITH SAUERKRAUT
 

1 lg. can, jar or pkg. sauerkraut
1 chicken pieces (breasts, legs, thighs)
Chopped onion
Brown sugar

Put 1/2 of sauerkraut in baking dish, sprinkle with chopped onion (small amount) and about 3 tablespoons brown sugar. Place chicken pieces on top. Add rest of sauerkraut and repeat with same amount onion and brown sugar. Use juice of sauerkraut (don't drain); cover with foil.

Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Remove foil halfway through baking so chicken has chance to brown. This can be put in a pan on outside grill for 1 hour on medium low. If skin is removed from chicken, makes it low in calories and cholesterol.
