DEEP DISH APPLE PIE

1 pkg. ready made pie crust
1 bag cooking apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. raisins
2 tbsp. molasses
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. mace
1/8 tsp. ginger
1/4 c. milk, opt.
1 (4 or 5 qt.) pot

Wash, peel, core and slice apples about 1/2 inch thick. In pot add sugar, apples, water, raisins, molasses, butter, flour and spices and combine. Cook slow until bubbling. Check and make sure apples do not burn or stick. When apples feel kind of soft, remove from heat.

Prepare deep dish - 1 ready made pie crust on bottom - fill with apples and sauce. Cover apples with other crust, press side with fork, cut off excess. Make vent cuts, bake until golden at 375 degrees. Let cool and serve. Do not over cook apples.
