2 c. scalded milk 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt Mix all together. 2 eggs, beaten 1 cake yeast 6-8 c. flour When cool, add eggs, yeast, and flour. Let rise for 2 hours, then roll out. Cut, then let rise again. Brown in hot oil on both sides. GLAZE: 1/2 lb. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. butter Mix well, then pour over donuts. |
