1 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 c. milk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Nutmeg (optional)

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs and mix. Add all remaining ingredients. Roll out on floured board and transfer to pie plate. Fill with fresh blackberry preserves or custards of vanilla or chocolate. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
