1 lb. ground beef 1 med. onion, sliced or 2 tbsp. instant onion 1/2 c. (1 med.) chopped green pepper, if desired 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 3 1/2 c. (1 lb. 13 oz.) can stewed tomatoes 2 c. (6-8 oz.) macaroni, uncooked 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt In large fry pan or Dutch oven, brown ground beef. Drain excess fat. Add onion and green pepper; continue frying until tender. Add remaining ingredients; cover. Reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes until macaroni is tender. |
