1 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 1/2 c. flour 2 whole eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. blackberry jam 1 c. raisins 3 tbsp. cocoa 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 1/2 tsp. soda Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa and jam. Pour milk in bowl and mix soda, so it won't run over, then add to the mixture. Add the flour and bake at 350 degrees. JAM CAKE ICING: 6 tbsp. flour 3 c. brown sugar 6 tbsp. cream 1 stick butter Mix flour and brown sugar together, add cream and butter. Let come to a boil (not long) and take off the stove and start beating. Cover cake with the icing. |
