WATERMELON PUNCH
 

1 lg. watermelon
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 (33.8) bottle ginger ale, chilled

Cut a thin slice from one end of melon, and slice top third from other end. The thin slice is to make a flat bottom for the melon to rest on. Scoop pulp form melon, remove the seeds, and mash pulp. Use shaped knife or paring knife to make decorative cuts around the edge of melon.

Combine sugar and water in saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add to a gallon of watermelon juice and chill. Just before serving add ginger ale stirring gently. Serve in watermelon shell.
