1/4 c. sliced almonds
1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sugar
Cook over low heat in pan, stirring constantly until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Cook and break apart. Store at room temperature.
Tear 1/2 head lettuce into bite-size pieces, and place in large plastic bag. Add 2 medium stalks of celery, chopped, 2 green onions, thinly sliced, and 1 can mandarin orange slices, drained.
1/4 c. oil
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. snipped parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
Dash of Tabasco
Shake in tightly covered jar. Pour over greens in bag. Shake well. Add almonds just before serving. Even those who "don't like salad" will love this one!
