BEEF PAPRIKA
 

1/4 c. shortening
2 lbs. stew beef
1 c. chopped onion
3/4 c. catsup
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
3 c. cooked egg noodles
2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
Dash cayenne pepper
1 3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. salt

In a skillet brown beef and onion in shortening. Drain excess grease. Add 1 1/2 cups water, paprika, dry mustard, cayenne pepper, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and salt. Cover and simmer for at least 1/2 hour. Thicken with flour and remaining 1/4 cup water 15 minutes before serving. Serve over noodles. Serves 6 to 8.
