PORK WITH CABBAGE SHREDS
 

1 1/2 lbs. pork
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. soy sauce
3 tbsp. oil
1 1/2 lbs. cabbage, finely shredded
1 minced garlic clove
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cut the pork in matchlike pieces. Mix with the sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons soy sauce. Let stand 10 minutes. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a skillet, saute the cabbage 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from pan. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet, saute the pork and garlic 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the cabbage, pepper and remaining soy sauce, cook over low heat 3 minutes. Serve with rice.
