SLOW ROASTING BEEF
 

3 lb. rump roast (or more)
Vegetable oil

Rub rump roast with vegetable oil. Bake on open rack of oven, preheated to 300 degrees, for 1 hour. Place drip pan beneath roast on lower rack. Without opening oven door, reduce heat to 200 degrees and continue baking at least 3-4 hours more.
