SLOW ROASTED PORK
 

2 lbs. boneless pork (shoulder or butt)
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 c. dry sherry
1/2 tsp. grated ginger
1/2 tbsp. Soy Bean Past (found in Asian markets)
2 green onions, chopped
1 tsp. anise seed
2 garlic cloves, crushed

Mix all ingredients, except the pork. Place pork in an ovenproof casserole just large enough to hold meat. It should not have too much room. Pour sauce over meat and bake covered, for 6 hours at 275 degrees.
