SAUSAGES AND SAUERKRAUT COOKED IN BEER
 

2 lbs. sauerkraut
1 (12 oz.) can leglit beer
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 apple, cored & chopped
2 tsp. caraway seeds
6 knockwurst or 1 lb. cocktail franks

In large saucepan combine sauerkraut, beer, onion, apple and caraway seeds. Cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes. Add knockwurst (or cocktail franks), cover and simmer another 15 minutes. Serve with sliced tomatoes, tossed green salad, rye bread slices and cold beer.
