WHOLE WHEAT PANCAKES
 

3/4 c. whole wheat flour
3/4 c. white flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nonfat dry milk
1 1/4 c. water
1 egg
3 tbsp. oil
Apple butter (optional)

Put dry ingredients into large bowl and mix well. Beat egg and water and oil. Then beat until mixed. Mix liquid ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir only until mixed. The batter will be lumpy. Cook on lightly greased hot griddle on pan. Turn over when bubbles appear and continue cooking until golden brown.

Top with 1 tablespoon of apple butter if desired. Freeze extra pancakes. For a quick breakfast, heat frozen pancakes in toaster just before serving.
