SLOW COOKED STEAK AND GRAVY
 

3 to 4 lbs. boneless round steak
Dash of each: garlic powder & pepper
1 lg. onion, coarsely chopped
2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 pkgs. dried onion soup mix
1/2 to 3/4 c. water
All-purpose flour

Cut steak into single serving slices. Sprinkle meat with garlic powder and pepper. Place 1/2 of the slices into crock pot and add chopped onion. Add 1 can mushroom soup and 1 package onion soup mix. Add remaining meat slices and top with remaining can of soup and onion soup mix. Add water. Cook on low heat 6 to 8 hours. When done, remove meat and set aside. Measure the liquid that remains in the pot. Pour the liquid back into the pot and turn power to high. To make gravy, add two tablespoons four to each cup of liquid. Let cook, stirring as necessary until smooth and thickened, about 4 minutes. Return meat to pot if desired. Serve over rice or potatoes. Serves 6 to 8.
