1 lb. round steak, cut in strips or cubes 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. paprika 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. flour 1/4 c. oil 1/2 c. onion, chopped or sliced 1 sm. can mushrooms 1 can beef consomme 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. sour cream 2 tbsp. chopped green onions Rub meat in garlic. Mix together garlic salt, paprika, pepper and flour. Dredge the meat in the flour mixture. Brown the meat in oil. Add onion. Cook slightly. Add remaining flour mixture, mushrooms, consomme and water. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours on top of stove or in oven. Before serving, stir in sour cream. Heat through but do not boil. Serve over hot noodles, rice or mashed potatoes. Garnish with green onions. |
