PART I: 2 c. applesauce 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 c. raisins 2 beaten eggs Mix first 4 ingredients and bring to a boil. Add eggs when cool. PART II: 2 c. gumdrops (no licorice ones) 1 c. flaked coconut 1 c. dates 2 c. broken walnuts 1 c. flour Mix together. PART III: 2 c. flour 2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. salt Mix, sift and pour into Part I alternating with Part II. Bake in 2 loaf pans or a tube pan at 300 degrees for 2 hours. |
