1 pie crust, uncooked Cook fruit, apple or peach (sweeten if desired) 3 egg whites 6 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar EGG CUSTARD: 3 beaten egg yokes 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. flour or cornstarch 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 c. milk Spread cooked dried fruit in crust. Make egg custard. Pour pour egg custard over fruit. Bake at 400 degrees until custard is set. Whip 3 egg whites until they will peak, adding 6 tablespoons sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. Pile lightly on pie. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. |
