SYRUP FOR EGG WHITE FROSTING
 

4 egg whites
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. sugar
1 c. water

Beat egg whites and sugar until at stiff peak stage. Cook water and sugar until bubbles are clear and syrup is to the stringy stage. While mixing pour boiled sugar water into egg whites. Continue beating until frosting is smooth. Enough for 2 layers.

This is the frosting mama always uses for her "Famous" coconut cakes.
