1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. salad dressing (Kraft Miracle Whip)
1 c. water
2 tbsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
Mix well with wooden spoon. Bake in greased 9x13 inch pan at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
NOTE: For good flavor, 2 tablespoons vanilla are needed. Directions given for the mix cake are to completely cool cake before frosting. The scratch cakes were cooled no more than 10 minutes before frosting unless Seven Minute Icing is used.

"My grandmother, mom and now my wife all make this recipe and it is fantastic. We make a homemade chocolate/peanut butter icing and put on the cake while warm. It almost makes a thick glaze. This cake is extremely moist and delicious."
