2 med. apples 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. each cinnamon and nutmeg 1/4 tsp. salt 1 egg 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1/2 c. honey 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 gal. French vanilla ice cream Cut apples in half and core. Slice thinly. Drop slices into a bowl of cold water; set aside. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, mixing well. Beat egg in a medium bowl; stir in brown sugar, honey, and vanilla. Blend in well drained apples and flour mixture, mixing well. Fold in walnuts and raisins. Spread mixture evenly in a greased 9 inch pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve hot, topped with the ice cream. |
