PORTUGUESE FLAM
 

1 pt. milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
6 eggs
3/4 c. sugar

Beat milk, vanilla, eggs, salt and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Set aside. Put 1/2 cup sugar into top of double boiler. Stir until honey colored. Coat top of double boiler with honey colored sugar.

Add first mixture and place in double boiler top, over boiling water in bottom. Cover and cook for one hour. Uncover top and let stand for 10 minutes, uncovered. Shake out gently into serving dish.
