2/3 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, cream of tartar, soda and vanilla. Stir in flour. Refrigerate dough. Roll out and use favorite cookie cutters. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Decorate with sugar and frosting.
