24 lg. marshmallows, cut in half 1 3/4 c. flour 1/2 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. soft shortening 2 tbsp. water 1 egg 1/2 c. evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped nuts In large bowl sift flour, cocoa, salt, sugar and soda. Add to the above mixture the shortening, water, egg, milk and vanilla. Beat 3 minutes. Add nuts. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. When you take from oven immediately place 1/2 marshmallow, cut side down, on top of each cookie. When cool frost with either Easy Chocolate Icing or Sister- In-Law's Icing (recipes follow). |
