CHOCOLATE MAPLE NUT BARS
 

1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. cold butter
2 eggs
1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl combine flour, sugar and salt, cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in 1 beaten egg. Press evenly into 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, in medium bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk, remaining 1 egg and flavoring, stir in nuts. Sprinkle chips evenly over prepared crust. Top with nut mixture, bake 25 minutes longer or until golden. Cool. Cut into bars. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

SALTED NUT ROLL BARS

1 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
Pinch salt
2 c. peanut butter
2 c. Rice Krispies
2 c. corn flakes
2 c. Spanish or salted peanuts

Heat until dissolved sugar, white syrup and salt. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, Rice Krispies, corn flakes and peanuts. Mix well and press into 9 x 13 inch pan.

FROSTING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. milk

Heat until butter melts, then add 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons vanilla. Mix well and spread over bars. Frosting will set up as it cools.
