WELSH COOKIES
 

5 c. flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. currants
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients together. Cut shortening into the dry mixture. Add the currants. Moisten first mixture with eggs, milk and vanilla. Roll dough to about 3/8 inch. Cut any shape and bake at 350 degrees in an electric skillet. Shake on granulated sugar.
