1 c. chocolate wafer crumbs
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3 lg. eggs
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavor
4 oz. diced marzipan
3 tbsp. melted butter
24 oz. softened cream cheese
1/4 c. cake flour
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine crumbs, butter and 1 tablespoon sugar. Press onto bottom of 8 1/2 inch Springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
Combine cream cheese, sugar and flour, mixing at medium speed on mixer until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing briefly after each addition.
Blend in sour cream and almond flavor. Stir in chocolate and marzipan. Pour over cooled crust. Bake for 55 minutes or until center of cake is "set". Loosen cake from rim of pan, cool on wire rack, then refrigerate for 8 hours before removing rim of pan.
Serve/Garnish: Serve chilled, top with chocolate dipped almonds, chocolate shavings or melted chocolate strings. Number of servings: 10.
