Put 1 teaspoon ... Fill with shredded turnips to 1 inch ... another teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon vinegar. Fill with hot water and seal.

Place 1 quart of sour turnips in a 4 ... potatoes and turnips together. Add a little potato water if mixture is too thick. Do not thin too much. Let simmer.

Note: Grandpa says the best time to fix kraut is as near ... 1 gallon of turnips per 1 rounded ... any frozen vegetable. Can add wieners or ham to flavor.

Mix all ingredients by hand. Let stand 1 week in refrigerator. Will keep for several months.
