Nothing beats homemade ice cream, and making it from scratch is a charming summertime tradition whose time has come again.

Combine water and dry milk, beat until fluffy. Add a couple drops of vanilla. Add Crisco, beat until smooth. Add powdered sugar. Beat until smooth.
Blend flour and milk; cook over medium heat, stirring continuously. Cool. Add Crisco and sugar, beating until fluffy.
Beat egg white until stiff. Mix together Crisco, sugar and vanilla. Beat into egg white. Spread on cake layers.

Cream Crisco, butter, milk, ... and baking powder. Beat until light and fluffy. If too stiff, add a few drops of hot water. Be careful not to add too much.
Cook milk and cornstarch until thick; cool. Cream together remaining ingredients, beat until fluffy.
Mash with a fork and beat at a high speed until very soft. Add water if needed.
Beat well, then add 3/4 cup powdered sugar and 1/4 cup milk. This is the icing like is used on wedding cakes.
Combine ingredients and whip on high to right consistency.
Put all ingredients together and beat except for coconut. The longer you beat, the creamier it will be.
