2 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. butter 1 tsp. strawberry jam 2 beaten egg yolks 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Combine dry ingredients. Stir in jam, egg yolks and butter. Divide mixture in half and press 1/2 over bottom of greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Reserve other half for topping. Combine: 4 c. sliced apples 3/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon Arrange over bottom crust. Crumble remaining 1/2 of dough over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, cut into bars. Jam adds flavor and moistness will last longer you can use any flavor but we like strawberry you can omit jam if you want to. |
