1 1/2 lbs. round steak (1/2 inch thick) 1/2 c. flour Salt and pepper 3 tbsp. cooking oil 1 med. onion 1 c. shredded cheese 1/2 c. water Cut steak into 6 pieces. Coat with salt, pepper and flour. Brown meat in oil. Top each piece with a slice of onion; add water. Cover and reduce heat and simmer until tender, about 45 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over meat. Cover; heat 2 minutes. |
