1 c. sauteed onions in 1 tbsp. butter 2 1/4 c. fresh bread crumbs 2 eggs 3/4 c. milk 2 tsp. salt, or less 3/4 tsp. white pepper 1/4 tsp. ground allspice 1/4 tsp. sugar 1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. bulk sausage Mix well and refrigerate to set up mixture. Roll into balls. Brown until cooked and remove from pan. GRAVY: 1/4 c. fat from meat drippings 1/4 c. flour 1 pt. milk 13 3/4 oz. can of beef broth or 2 to 3 beef bouillon cubes and water If gravy is desired for potatoes, may want to double gravy amount. |
