1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
1/2 c. milk
2 c. soft bread cubes
1/2 onion, chopped
7 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. tomato paste
1 bouillon cube
1 can consomme soup
1 c. sour cream
Soak bread in milk. Squeeze dry and add to meat. Brown the onions in butter and add to hamburger with salt, nutmeg, paprika, dry mustard, pepper and beaten eggs. Mix well and form into 48 small balls. They will be mushy.
Brown in butter. Remove from pan and make sauce. Blend in flour, tomato paste, bouillon cube and consomme (add enough water to make 2 cups). Stir over low heat until thick. Add meatballs. Just before serving stir in sour cream and heat through.
