BEEF STEW (PORTUGUESE STYLE)
 

1 lb. stew meat
Potatoes
1 sm. onion
3 sm. cloves garlic
1/2 c. white wine
2 tbsp. tomato paste
Pepper and salt to taste

In a pan add a little cooking oil, let it get hot. Then add the stew meat. The flame should be low. Let meat brown, then cut up the onion and add it to the meat, also add the garlic, and wine. Make sure to stir every once in a while. Also, add tomato paste, salt and pepper to taste. Let everything simmer for a while. Add how much water you think you're going to need, bring to a boil, then add potatoes and let cook until done. Water should be level with potatoes.
