DELLA MARLOW'S ITALIAN BEEF
 

5-6 lb. beef roast, rump, tip, chuck or other
2 tsp. basil
1 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. garlic salt or 3-4 garlic cloves
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1-2 bay leaves
1 c. water or 1 can beer

Put roast in large covered roaster pan, with all the above ingredients. Cook 4 hours at 325 degrees. When roast is done, strain the gravy, slice roast, and pour strained gravy over it. Serve hot. If prepared ahead of time, when ready to serve, slice roast and heat in gravy-drippings and serve. Makes delicious hot (Italian) beef sandwiches.
