2 c. seedless raisins 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. Crisco 2 c. packed brown sugar 2 eggs 2 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. soda 1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream 3 tsp. vanilla 2 c. uncooked oatmeal 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Simmer raisins in water until water is absorbed; cool. Cream shortening and butter; add sugar gradually; beat in egg. Blend in sifted dry ingredients, sour cream, vanilla, oatmeal, raisins and walnuts. Drop level teaspoonful of dough onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen. |
