BOILED POT PIE
 

Cooked ham, beef or chicken (your choice), cut into sm. pieces
1 onion, diced
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/3 c. water
4 lg. potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced

To make dough: Mix flour, salt and baking powder in bowl. Add shortening and cut into dry ingredients as for pie crust. Add to this 1 egg and water mixed together to make dough. Mix well and form into ball. On floured surface, roll out as thinly as possible. Cut into 2 inch squares.

Boil meat and broth (add water to make 2 quarts). Add diced onion. When boiling, add layers of sliced potatoes, then dough, etc. Cover and cook 20 minutes. If you must add water, add boiling water.
