1 c. butter 1/3 c. anise seed, crushed 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed 1 egg 3 tbsp. molasses 3 2/3 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/8 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt Cream butter, anise seed, and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, molasses, and milk. Sift flour with soda and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Form into rolls; chill dough 2 to 3 hours. Slice thin and bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) 9 to 11 minutes. |
